Use this decimal to American odds converter to translate any decimal price into a moneyline (American) line and see the implied probability. Decimal odds (popular in Europe, Australia, and on betting exchanges) show the total payout per unit staked, including the stake itself. American odds use a positive or negative number to express how much you profit on a $100 bet. Converting between them takes one formula.

The formula

Decimal odds ≥ 2.00: American = (Decimal − 1) × 100Decimal odds < 2.00: American = −100 ÷ (Decimal − 1)

Example: Decimal 2.50 → (2.50 − 1) × 100 = +150. Decimal 1.67 → −100 ÷ (1.67 − 1) = −149.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why convert decimal to American?

US sportsbooks display moneyline by default. If your model or sharp source quotes decimal (Pinnacle, Betfair, prediction markets), you need to convert before comparing prices against US books.

Why does decimal 2.00 equal +100?

Decimal 2.00 means doubling your stake (1.00 profit per 1.00 staked). American +100 means winning $100 on a $100 stake. Both are even money at 50% implied probability.

How do I round the American result?

US sportsbooks typically round American odds to the nearest 5 or 10. The calculator shows the exact conversion; round to the nearest standard line your book displays.
